Debbie Hunt is a visual artist based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her work is deeply informed by a life shaped by nature, observation, and reflection.
Hunt’s artistic voice was forged during years spent living on a rural Virginia farm known as Summerland South, where caring for horses and immersing herself in the natural landscape fostered a lasting connection to the rhythms and quiet power of the natural world. Encouraged and mentored by artists Judith Thompson and Rob VanderZee, she began to pursue painting with intention and focus.
In 2020, Hunt relocated to Charlotte, where her practice continued to evolve. She enrolled in the Milan Art Institute in 2022, completing the Mastery Program in January 2025. She is currently a Resident Artist at Charlotte Studio Artists.
Hunt’s paintings explore themes of stillness, resilience, and presence. She draws inspiration from everyday moments and natural environments, viewing lived experience as a source of depth and clarity rather than limitation. Her work invites viewers into contemplative spaces—offering a sense of calm, connection, and quiet wonder.
